James C. Mulligan

The Irish/American artist James C. Mulligan was born and raised in Southern California in 1978. Well known for his traditionally hand painted on model artwork and large scale murals.

He found a passion for artwork doodling on his homework as a young boy, this progressed to many teenage years painting theatre scenery. Also a musically trained theatre performer, James has starred in many professional shows and had a huge passion for theatre and live performing.

Disney

His decades long relationship with The Walt Disney Company started in the Entertainment Art Department in the late 90's and progressed through Pictorial and Feature Animation with various projects working hand in hand with the Imagineering Department including the Shanghai Disneyland Mickey Meet & Greet.

Many are familiar with James' work from his years spent with Disney Fine Art, painting and entertaining live on stage. Today, James works with many channels of licensed Disney merchandising including world class brands such as Lorcana, Topps, RSVLTS, Spirit Jersey, Upper Deck and Walt Disney Comics. He is the Primary Artist for The Art of Disney' Topps Disney Chrome 2026.

Brand Work

Brand work includes The Walt Disney Company, The Chuck Jones Gallery, Knotts Berry Farm, The Elvis Presley Estate, The Magic Castle in Hollywood, Cirque du Soleil, Marvel, Lucasfilm and Amblin. He has also created works for Saturday Morning Cards including Smokey Bear, King Kong, The Rocketeer, Steamboat Willie, Oswald and Classic Winnie The Pooh 100th Year Celebration.

Charity

Passionate about Charity work, James regularly works in conjunction with Give Kids The World and CHOC, creating and donating assets for events to fundraise.

Personal Life

James is husband to his British counterpart, Charlotte and father to two amazing grown children. Follow along online and on socials for Mr Mulligan's travels and upcoming launches.
